Gratuitous BUICK shot..

The car above is one of my all time favourites, the 1950 Buick sedanette.
There is something about old Buicks that really get to me, and the period between 1949 - 53 was for me the best stylistically. This one came up for auction in august last year, totally original and unmolested, the new owner must be very pleased.... I sure would be!

I am with you on this one 100%. My Dad had a 1950 Buick 4 door. All I can remember was how roomy it was inside. Great pics and awesome car.

I think it's the 'waterfall' grille of the 1950 that makes them stand out even more than usual.
I'd love to take a ride in one someday.

I had a 50 Special but it wasn't the fastback. I did a painting of it I've posted at flickr at:

One of the other nicknames they gave the grill was the dollar bill grin. From the shot of the dash it looked like the car was missing the plastic prism that was mounted near the windshield. I had no idea of what it did until I noticed that I could tell from the reflection what color the stoplight was without having to duck down to look because of the visor overhang.
